Default A/C and blower issues

I Just purchased a 97 Saab 9000CS from a dealer in the area and I have no AC and no matter what setting I select the air to come out from the vents the only place the air comes from is the defrost vents and I can't get it to come from anywhere else.
I was just wondering if anyone new what I could do to fix this, It sounds like I need to replace the hole heater core and blower unit?

Any thoughts?

Is the air cold coming from the defroster vent? Is sounds like either the servo motor or the air deflector flap are stuck. It does not require replacement of the entire heater assembly to repair this problem. A Tech II diagnostic is unit is needed to see if the problem is electric. Phil's Foreign Auto does this type of diagnostic for free.

The air is warmish when it is coming out the defroster. I think that is because the AC needs a recharge. the whole unit does not need to be replaced? What is the usual rate the phils charges after the scan is done. cause I wouldn't mind stopping in someday on one of my days off to have a scan done. do you charge to have a code reset? I would really just like some cool air inside my car.

We don't charge to evaluate and estimate repairs. We will scan your climate module for codes and reset and calibrate as well for no charge. We will give you a written estimate for what needs to be done to get your cool air back also at no charge. Please contact us either by phone at 767-5008 or the contact tab from the main website.

Thanks

Bruce
